Carroll County Food Sunday has received $4,273 from The Giant Company. The donation represents proceeds of the company’s “Bag Hunger” campaign, which ran in Giant and Martin’s Food Stores in Carroll County March 1-14.
“Our compassionate store teams were especially proud to work with our generous customers on the campaign,\” said Christopher Brand, Director of Communications and Social Impact for The Giant Company in a letter to the organization. “We know and appreciate the humanitarian work those on your front lines are conducting to keep our communities healthy and strong.\”
“Bag Hunger proceeds will help us provide a week\’s worth of groceries for about 90 families,” said Ed Leister, Executive Director of Carroll County Food Sunday. “We are grateful to The Giant Company and their generous customers for their support as we work to address food insecurity in Carroll County.\”
Carroll County Food Sunday provides emergency and supplemental food to about 400 families each week in Carroll County each week.
