Carroll County Food Sunday has received $4,108 from Giant Food Stores, LLC. The funds are the proceeds of the company’s “Bag Hunger” campaign, which ran in Giant and Martin’s Food Stores in Carroll County August 25 through September 7.
“Our passionate store teams were especially proud to work with our generous customers on the campaign,” said Christopher Brand, Director of External Communications and Community Relations for Giant Food Stores, LLC in a letter to the organization. “We are delighted to play an active community role in fighting hunger.”
“This donation represents the equivalent of weekly groceries for about 165 individual clients,” said Ed Leister, Executive Director of Carroll County Food Sunday. “We are grateful to Giant and Martin’s Food Stores and their customers for their support as we work together to fight hunger in our community.”
Carroll County Food Sunday provides emergency and supplemental food to about 400 families in Carroll County each week through its locations in Westminster, Eldersburg and Taneytown.
